Donate for a Cause
When you consider charitable giving, one of your main goals is likely to ensure that you donate for a cause. You may choose an organization to give to because you are personally connected, have watched their mission come alive in your community, or have attended a fundraising event. Regardless of the reason, you want to make sure your money serves a purpose, but what are the most common ways to give back?
Attend a Fundraising Event
In other words, have fun, meet the people benefitting from your gift, and get a glimpse of the organization’s culture. Fundraising events are a dime a dozen, especially in generous communities like ours, but it’s a great way to donate for a cause. If you’re just beginning your journey as a philanthropist or you’re donating your life savings at every turn, fundraising events are fun and meaningful for every type of donor as you can give your time (volunteer), talent (expertise), or treasure (in-kind or monetary gifts).
Instead of hosting many events throughout the year, we have decided to focus our efforts on one fun event called Paddles & Pints which takes place each November. It’s the perfect mix of being active, enjoying food and a beverage, and socializing. In addition to Pickleball team registrations and ticket sales, we also raise funds through a silent auction, a raffle, and simulator competitions.
Give a Monetary Gift
Every non-profit needs and appreciates monetary gifts. After all, it takes funding to ensure the every aspect of the business is successful and, most importantly, the beneficiaries of the non-profit’s services receive the maximum benefit. In addition to donating for a cause, monetary gifts are usually 100% tax deductible and can come in the form of a personal donation or a corporate donation in the form of a sponsorship, matching gift, or a grants.
At EA, monetary gifts are used to support our Harper Family Foundation All-Access Pathway. It is our goal to ensure access to lifelong health and wellness, and we are committed to ensuring that funding is not a barrier.
Become a Volunteer
Most non-profit organizations have a lean staff. For this reason, volunteers are crucial to furthering their mission. When you become a volunteer, you are often immersed in the purpose of the non-profit, and you’ll see first-hand the impact of your gift – you’ll donate for a cause. Volunteer opportunities vary by organization but often come in the form of front-line volunteers, event volunteers, and board members.
A variety of volunteer opportunities are available at EA Therapeutic Health. From students to stay-at-home moms and working professionals, we offer a plethora of meaningful opportunities to help people in our community live well, move well, and be well.
When you donate for a cause, you make great things happen. Regardless of the type of charitable giving that is most appealing to you, you’ll be sure to find a purpose if you take a look around.
