Ways to give back can be as simple as making a donation or volunteering your time. Supporting a good cause doesn’t have to be complicated and every small effort adds up to make a big difference.
You may choose an organization to help for various reasons. Maybe you are personally connected, have watched their mission come alive in your community or have attended a fundraising event. Regardless of the reason, what you give back is serving a purpose
When donating to a non-profit, you are helping them carry out their mission and increase their reach. For us at EA Therapeutic Health, this means that you are helping us provide services to many people in need and improve their lives.
So, what are the most common ways to give back? Lets, take a look at them in this post.
Why Donating to Non-Profits Matters
Donating to non-profits is about more than just giving money—it’s about creating positive change. When you find ways to give back and support a non-profit organization, you’re directly contributing to programs and initiatives that improve lives, strengthen communities, and tackle challenges that might otherwise go unaddressed.
Non-profits often step in where other systems aren’t and address the critical needs of communities in a variety of areas. These organizations rely on donations to fund their missions- whether it’s from providing meals for families in need or advocating for policy changes that protect vulnerable populations.
Donating to EA Therapeutic Health helps ensure that individuals in need have access to vital physical therapy services, regardless of their financial circumstances. Many people rely on physical therapy to regain mobility, manage chronic pain, and recover from injuries, but the cost can be a significant barrier. Your donation helps bridge that gap by supporting programs that provide affordable or even free therapy sessions to underserved communities. By giving, you’re not just helping individuals heal—you’re empowering them to live healthier, more independent lives and contributing to a healthier, stronger community.
Ways to Give Back to Non-Profits
There are several ways one can donate to non-profits and be part of a solution that matters. The following are some of them:
- One-Time or Recurring Monetary Donations- Funding is important as it ensures that every aspect of an organization is successful. So, even a small one-time or recurring monetary donation can make a significant impact in the ability to serve people. In addition, these monetary gifts are tax deductible.
- Corporate Sponsorships or Matching Gifts- Businesses can make contributions through these programs.
- Donor Advised Fund – You may have a fund set aside or be able to donate directly from your IRA account, especially if you are over 70 years old.
- In-kind Donations- This involves donating goods and services instead of money. These donations can include equipment, clothing, legal and IT work.
- Be Part of Fundraising Events- Attending and/or helping out at fundraising events can make a big impact. You can meet the people that are benefiting from your gift and get an even better glimpse of what the organization is all about and its culture. Fundraising events are fun and meaningful for every type of donor as you can give your time, expertise and/or gifts (in-kind or monetary).
- Volunteer- Many non-profits don’t have the number of staff truly needed for their cause. Because of this, volunteers are greatly appreciated to further organizations’ reach. This is a wonderful way of donating as you also get a first-hand look at the impact you are making.
- Raise Awareness- Making people aware of the organization is also one of the powerful ways to give back. This can be done by way of word of mouth and/or through social media posts. Talking about an organization’s mission can have a ripple effect in which new donators and clients are reached.
Donating to EA Therapeutic Health
Here at EA, we have been the recipients of multiple types of donations that have helped us serve the community. The following are examples of them:
- Fundraising Events- We have hosted fun events that have successfully raised funds for us. Our most recent one was the Everyone Can Walk, Run & Roll 1 Mile/5K event. This was a collaboration we did with Rochesterfest and resulted in the raising of $16,000 that went towards programming. We have also raised funds through an event called, “Paddles & Pints.” This involved pickleball, silent auction, raffle, lunch and a Vikings game watch party.
- Monetary Gifts- We accept many forms of monetary gifts. These donations go towards the support of Harper Family Foundation All- Access Pathway. This is a unique program that specifically helps individuals receive physical therapy services who may otherwise be unable to afford them.
- Volunteering- At EA, volunteers are highly valued as they help us serve more clients. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities that are available to choose from. These include student volunteering, program support, professional volunteering and special events/committee volunteering. Whether you are a student or a stay-at-home mom, we offer meaningful opportunities to help people in the Rochester area to move well, feel well and live well.
In Conclusion
No matter how small or big your contribution, finding meaningful ways to give back can make a real difference. When you donate to non-profits, you are not just giving resources- you are creating hope and opportunity for those in need.
